Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive curriculum tailored to various skill levels, incorporating foundational moves, choreography, and performance techniques
- Teach engaging breakdance classes that emphasize proper technique, safety, and artistic expression
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively to ensure a respectful, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere for all students
- Provide individualized tutoring and feedback to help students improve their skills and build confidence
- Incorporate elements of theater, photography, or other creative arts to enrich dance performances and student projects
- Plan and organize special events or showcases that highlight student progress and foster community engagement
- Maintain a safe learning environment by implementing behavior management strategies and adhering to safety protocols
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching breakdancing or related urban dance styles with a strong portfolio of performances or choreography
- Background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management for diverse age groups including children, teens, and adults
- Experience working with children in early childhood education settings or preschool environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of additional disciplines such as ballet, theater arts, sewing (for costume creation), culinary arts (for event catering), or childcare enhances your versatility as an instructor
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and childhood development principles to support young learners effectively
- Prior experience in working with students with special education needs or in inclusive classroom settings is advantageous
