About The Role
The Systems Administrator - Linux is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux systems to ensure smooth daily operations. This role focuses on operational support, basic configurations, and resolving escalated service desk issues.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain Linux server environments.
- Assist with daily management of Linux-based systems such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, or CentOS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and user requests.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching and backups.
- Collaborate with senior team members on projects and escalations.
- ITIL/ITSM: Manage change management relevant to monthly patching tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in Linux systems administration or IT support.
- Basic knowledge of Linux systems administration (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Patching requires after hours and weekend work at minimum two weekends a month.
