XTEL Utility is looking for an experienced COAX Fiber Splicer to join our team!
Responsibilities Splice fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground telecom infrastructure. Climb utility poles, utilizing truck mounted lift-bucket or descend into underground vaults. Independently build, prep, splice, tag, and test new cables to meet client requirements. Locate and repair cables faults to maintain existing cable network without causing signal failure interruptions. Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network. Read and understand construction prints and splice schematics. Maintain project information such as production sheets, time sheets, and customer required paperwork. Ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.
Requirements & Qualifications 3 or more years of relevant work experience in fiber splicing. Able to read and comprehend schematics and prints. Able to travel and work flexible hours (requires regular overnight travel) Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Works well independently and in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and highly organized. Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. Must have a valid State driver’s license. Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical and criminal background check. Work Location: Varies, depending on the location of the job.
