Xtel is seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Tools and Integration Specialist to join our dynamic team at Xtel, a leading Telecommunications and Managed Service provider. This position will play a critical, hands-on role in Xtel’s AI journey by evaluating, and implementing emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and applications. This role is 100% focused on practical application: identifying AI solutions that can immediately enhance operations across our business (e.g., customer support, network management, marketing, service delivery and other internal processes), and then successfully selecting, implementing the AI tools and training employees to use them effectively.
This is an entry-level position perfect for a motivated individual with a passion for AI technology and whom processes: strong research skills, foundational knowledge of ML and AI, project management and stellar interpersonal skills.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
AI Market and Application Research & Evaluation:
- Proactively research the market for new and existing AI tools, apps, and platforms (e.g., generative AI for content, AI-powered automation for workflows, data analytics tools, etc.).
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine which tools offer the highest value return for Xtel’s specific operational needs.
- Prepare and present clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership for tool adoption.
Integration & Implementation:
- Manage the procurement, testing, and initial setup of approved AI tools – in partnership with appropriate departmental stakeholders.
- Work with department heads to map existing workflows and integrate new AI solutions seamlessly.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for all adopted AI applications.
- Partner with Product & Engineering to ensure AI initiatives are mapped/resourced as part of Unified Product Roadmap
- Training & Change Management:
- Develop and deliver practical, engaging training materials and sessions for employees on how to use new AI tools to improve their daily tasks.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot integration issues as Xtel staff adopt new technologies.
- Monitor tool usage and gather feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Administration with a Technology focus, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience. Candidates with relevant internships, academic projects, or demonstrated personal experience in AI tool research and application are highly encouraged to apply.
Essential Skillsets
(1) Technical Acumen - Familiarity with the AI/ML Landscape: Basic understanding of different types of AI (e.g., Generative AI, Predictive AI, automation) and their practical applications in a business setting. Research Proficiency: Ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and test new software and cloud-based applications.
(2) Problem-Solving - Critical Thinking: Ability to match technological solutions to specific business problems (e.g., "Our sales team needs better lead summaries). Workflow Analysis: Aptitude for mapping and optimizing processes.
(3) Communication & Training - Exceptional Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts simply to non-technical users. Instructional Design: Skill in creating clear, concise training documentation (guides, videos, presentations) and leading effective training sessions to a varying range of audience and knowledge baseline.
(4) Soft Skills - Proactive & Self-Directed: Must be a driven self-starter capable of managing a research pipeline independently. Change Management Support: Patience and empathy for employees learning new systems. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with staff across all levels and departments of Xtel.
Preferred (Bonus) Skills
- Light Coding/Scripting: Basic proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for simple data extraction or API integration (not required for the role, but a definite plus).
- SaaS/Cloud Experience: Prior experience implementing and managing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products.
- Telecommunications or IT Services Experience: Familiarity with the operations of a telecom or managed services provider is a bonus.
