We are searching for a Director of Data Center Solutions to be responsible for driving the growth, design, and delivery of data center infrastructure solutions across Northern Virginia and key U.S. markets. This role sits at the intersection of business development, customer strategy, and project execution, with a primary focus on Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber infrastructure supporting hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center environments.
This position partners closely with hyperscalers, data center operators, carriers, and internal engineering and operations teams to develop scalable, resilient, and future-ready network solutions. The Director will be accountable not only for expanding XS Telecom’s market presence, but also for ensuring solutions are designed and executed to meet the technical, operational, and commercial expectations of mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion

Drive strategic growth initiatives to expand XS Telecom’s data center footprint in Northern Virginia and nationally.

Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center customers.

Partner with customers during early planning and design phases to identify OSP/ISP, fiber diversity, carrier access, and building interconnection requirements.

Identify new opportunities within existing customer portfolios, including market expansions, new buildings, and infrastructure upgrades.

Support sales strategy development, pricing input, and pursuit planning for complex infrastructure opportunities.

Collaborate with technology partners and customers to deliver integrated network and building infrastructure solutions.
Customer & Carrier Relationships

Build and strengthen relationships with domestic and international network service providers.

Coordinate with carriers to support large-scale OSP builds, diverse routing, and carrier-neutral connectivity strategies.

Act as a trusted technical and commercial advisor to customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
Project Oversight & Delivery

Partner with engineering, construction, and operations teams to translate customer requirements into executable OSP/ISP designs.

Provide oversight across the full project lifecycle—from conceptual design through construction and operational handoff.

Review and validate design documentation (conceptual, schematic, DD, IFC) for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.

Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality and safety standards.

Support vendor selection, RFP development, and performance oversight for telecom and infrastructure partners.

Contribute to capital planning, budgeting, and cost optimization without compromising performance or reliability.
Technical Leadership

Serve as a subject matter expert in data center digital infrastructure, including fiber systems, carrier interconnections, and network architecture.

Ensure solutions align with industry standards, security requirements, and best practices for mission-critical facilities.

Collaborate with internal and external partners on building management systems, security integrations, and infrastructure resilience.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to network performance, uptime, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience

10 years of experience in data center, telecom, or digital infrastructure environments.

Demonstrated experience supporting hyperscale and colocation data centers.

Strong background in OSP and ISP fiber infrastructure design, deployment, and operations.

Proven ability to balance customer-facing business development with hands-on project execution.

Experience working directly with carriers, network service providers, and infrastructure vendors.

Track record of managing complex, multi-site infrastructure projects with significant capital investment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage executives, customers, engineers, and field teams.

Proficiency reviewing and coordinating technical documentation and design deliverables.

Ability to operate independently while collaborating across sales, engineering, operations, and executive leadership.
Preferred Experience

Direct experience supporting hyperscale or global data center operators.

Background working in Northern Virginia data center markets.

Experience supporting nationwide or multi-region infrastructure deployments.

Familiarity with building interconnections, carrier hotels, and carrier-neutral facilities.
