Job Title: Class A Local Truck Driver

Position Overview

Xpress Global Systems (XGS) is seeking experienced Class A Local Truck Drivers to support our transportation and logistics operations. This role is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient movement of freight within a defined local radius while maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations and company standards.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $31.00 per hour
• Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable laws
• Additional Earnings: Potential for safety bonuses and performance incentives (where applicable)

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for local deliveries and pickups
• Load, unload, and secure freight to prevent damage during transport
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance issues promptly
• Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies
• Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet service expectations
• Maintain accurate logs for mileage, fuel, deliveries, and hours of service (HOS)
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status and any delays or issues
• Provide professional, customer-focused service during all interactions
• Assist with warehouse duties, inventory handling, and basic equipment maintenance as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized truck and work environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 23 years old
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Minimum 24 months of verifiable Class A driving experience within the last 3 years (or 36 months within 5 years)
• Clean driving record:
• • No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
  • No serious violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, excessive speeding, leaving the scene, etc.)
• No more than:
• • 2 at-fault accidents in the past 36 months
  • 3 at-fault accidents in the past 60 months
• Ability to read, speak, and write English per FMCSA requirements
• Must pass:
• • DOT drug screen
  • DOT physical (minimum 6-month certification)
  • Company road test
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service compliance
• Ability to operate tractor-trailers and navigate using GPS and routing tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Local delivery experience
• Forklift certification and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move freight up to 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing
• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
