Evening Janitor / Cleaner – Government Facility (Contingent on Contract Award)
Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge – Alamo, TX
Pay: $18–$21 per hour
Schedule: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Work Days: Monday, Wednesday & Saturday
Estimated Hours: ~18–19 hours per week
Job Type: Part-Time, Year-Round Government Contract
This position is contingent upon contract award. Selected candidate must attend a paid site visit on December 17, 2025.

Facility Size & Flooring
- Total Square Footage: ~9,200 SF
- Carpeted Areas: ~6,000 SF
- Tile / Concrete: ~3,200 SF

- 2 indoor restrooms
- 2 outdoor restrooms
- Law enforcement office
Estimated Weekly Hours
- Cleanings occur 3 times per week
- Estimated Weekly Hours: ~18–19 hours/week
Scope of Work – Every Scheduled Cleaning Day
Performed every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday (5PM–10PM):
General Cleaning
- Empty all trash & wastebaskets (including outside VC receptacles)
- Transport trash to dumpster in warehouse yard
- Clean & sanitize drinking fountains
- Clean & sanitize lunchroom counters, sinks & tables
- Spot clean all interior glass (doors, windows, display cases)
- Clean & polish all chrome fittings
Restroom Cleaning (Indoor & Outdoor)
- Clean, sanitize & polish:
- Toilets, urinals, hand basins
- Chrome & stainless fixtures
- Clean wall & floor areas near fixtures
- Sanitize toilet seats
- Empty trash & replace liners
- Refill all dispensers:
- Toilet paper, paper towels, soap
- Sweep & wet mop restroom floors
Floors
- Dust mop & sweep all hard floors
- Vacuum all carpeted areas
- Inspect & remove stains on all flooring
Weekly Deep Cleaning – Wednesdays Only
- Transport recyclables to dumpster
- Clean exterior trash & recycling receptacles
- Dust all horizontal surfaces up to 70”
- Clean visitor center glass doors
- Sanitize information desk
- Remove cobwebs throughout
- Clean & polish mirrors, dryers & dispensers
- Wet mop & disinfect hard floors
Monthly Deep Cleaning – First Saturday of Each Month
- Remove scuffs & fingerprints from doors, switches & rails
- Dust & vacuum vents
- Dust & polish lunchroom cabinets
- Dust/vacuum chairs in auditorium, lunchroom & conference room
- Clean entrance glass & wall marks
- Power wash exterior VC breezeway walls
- Wash & sanitize restroom partitions & containers
- Power wash entire breezeway & restroom foyers
Requirements
- Commercial or janitorial cleaning experience (3 years preferred)
- Ability to pass background screening
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented & professional
- Must secure facility after cleaning
- Must follow eco-friendly cleaning procedures
- Reliable transportation required
- No children permitted on-site
Paid Site Visit Requirement
- All finalists must attend a paid site visit on December 17, 2025
- This is a required orientation and facility walkthrough
- Time spent will be fully compensated
