Job Description

Xplicit Technologies, LLC is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Evening Janitor to provide professional custodial services at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Customer Service Center in Covington, Virginia.

This position is being recruited in anticipation of an upcoming Virginia DMV janitorial services contract scheduled to begin January 1, 2027. Employment is contingent upon contract award and successful completion of all required onboarding and DMV security/background screening requirements.

The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, capable of working independently, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional public facility.

Schedule

Cleaning services will generally be performed:

Monday through Friday after DMV customer hours

Approximately 8–12 hours per week are anticipated.

Exact evening start times will be coordinated with DMV management upon contract commencement. Some periodic cleaning assignments may require additional time.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include routine and periodic custodial services such as:

• Sweep, dust mop, and damp mop hard-surface flooring
• Vacuum carpeting and carpet runners
• Spot-clean carpets as necessary
• Clean and disinfect restrooms
• Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, counters, partitions, and fixtures
• Replenish restroom supplies provided by DMV
• Empty interior and exterior trash receptacles
• Replace trash liners as necessary
• Clean entrances, lobby glass, doors, windows, and Plexiglas surfaces
• Dust and wipe furniture, counters, cabinets, windowsills, baseboards, and other surfaces
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces
• Clean exterior entrance and designated smoking areas
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in an orderly condition
• Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and semiannual cleaning assignments as scheduled

Periodic services may include floor buffing, carpet shampooing, floor stripping and waxing, window cleaning, blind cleaning, and other detailed custodial work.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

• Be dependable and able to maintain a consistent Monday–Friday evening schedule
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Have janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Be able to safely use commercial cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Be able to lift and move routine janitorial equipment and supplies
• Have reliable transportation
• Be able to follow written cleaning schedules and security procedures
• Be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and facility representatives

Security Requirements

Because services will be performed inside a Virginia DMV facility, selected employees will be required to:

• Successfully complete a criminal history/background screening
• Receive DMV approval before working independently inside the facility
• Follow all DMV building-access and alarm procedures
• Maintain strict control of assigned access credentials
• Complete required Commonwealth of Virginia contractor training

Candidates with felony or larceny-related criminal history may not meet DMV's personnel-authorization requirements.

Compensation

$16.00–$19.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Payroll will be processed biweekly.
