We are recruiting a Site Director - AI Accelerator to lead the launch and operation of a new artificial intelligence accelerator based in Alabama. This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on attracting early-stage AI startups, developing accelerator programs and helping entrepreneurs build AI-powered businesses. The successful candidate will bring strong relationships across the AI founder ecosystem and the ability to build a successful accelerator from the ground up.
About the CompanyOur client is an established entrepreneurial support organisation launching a new statewide AI accelerator. The initiative will support high-potential artificial intelligence startups while providing local entrepreneurs with access to AI tools, training and business development resources.

As Site Director, you will be responsible for attracting promising AI companies from across the United States, developing compelling accelerator programs and establishing the organisation as a destination for AI entrepreneurship.
A key objective will be encouraging innovative companies to establish or expand their presence in Alabama while enabling residents to launch their own AI-enabled businesses.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, launch and day-to-day operations of the AI accelerator, including program development, delivery and performance management.
Identify, engage and recruit high-potential early-stage AI startups from across the United States to participate in accelerator cohorts.
Develop compelling propositions that attract out-of-state AI founders and encourage business relocation or expansion into Alabama.
Build and maintain relationships with AI founders, startup communities, venture capital firms, angel investors and entrepreneurial networks.
Design and oversee an accessible AI toolkit incorporating AI agents, automation platforms and third-party services to help entrepreneurs launch businesses.
Develop accelerator programs covering mentorship, business development, commercial growth and access to relevant resources.
Establish partnerships with technology providers, investors, industry leaders and regional innovation organisations.
Define and monitor key performance indicators covering startup recruitment, accelerator participation, business creation and economic impact.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience leading or delivering startup accelerators, incubators, venture-building programs or entrepreneurial initiatives.
Established relationships with early-stage AI founders and a strong understanding of the US AI startup ecosystem.
Demonstrable experience attracting, recruiting or supporting early-stage technology companies.
Experience designing and delivering startup support programs, innovation initiatives or business growth strategies.
Strong commercial, operational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build partnerships across multiple organisations.
A practical understanding of artificial intelligence and its application in entrepreneurship, business creation and automation.
Nice to Have
Previous experience as an Accelerator Director, Executive Director, Head of Programs or senior leader within an innovation organisation.
Experience in economic development, regional investment attraction or business relocation initiatives.
Established relationships with venture capital investors, angel networks or startup funding communities.
Experience implementing AI agents, generative AI tools or automation platforms for business applications.
