Our platform, XpertCoding, autonomously codes outpatient medical claims directly from clinical documentation using neural networks, machine learning, and natural language processing.

Position Summary

You will own the accounting function at XpertDox, Inc. That means you close the books every month, produce GAAP financial statements, run accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, maintain the chart of accounts in QuickBooks, handle intercompany accounting and consolidation with our India entity, and manage the audit, tax, and state registration calendar. You report to the Chief Executive Officer and to our fractional CFO, and you work alongside the fractional CFO, who keeps board reporting and capital markets work. This is a hands-on role with no direct reports: the close is yours to execute, not to delegate.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Own the monthly close, from journal entries and reconciliations through to GAAP financial statements.
• Own the chart of accounts and the general ledger in QuickBooks, including accounting policy and documentation.
• Own accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor setup, collections follow-through, and cash application.
• Run payroll and the related tax filings and reconciliations.
• Own intercompany accounting with XpertDox India Private Limited (XIPL) and produce the consolidated financial statements.
• Own the annual audit and all tax filings, and manage the outside accountants and tax preparers who support them.
• Own state registrations, sales and use tax, and other recurring compliance filings.
• Maintain internal controls and month-end schedules that a diligence process can be walked through without rework.
• Deliver monthly financial reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the fractional CFO on a fixed calendar.

Required Qualifications

• Active CPA license.
• Five or more years of accounting experience.
• Personal ownership of a monthly close: you performed and signed off on the close and produced the GAAP financial statements yourself, rather than supervising someone who did.
• Experience consolidating multiple legal entities, including at least one foreign subsidiary, and handling the intercompany accounting between them.
• Hands-on work in QuickBooks, not oversight of someone else operating it.
• Ability to work independently with no accounting staff to delegate to.

Preferred Qualifications

• Accounting experience at a venture-backed company.
• Accounting experience at a SaaS company, including recurring revenue recognition and deferred revenue.
• Healthcare or revenue cycle experience.
• Experience with an India-based subsidiary, including Indian statutory reporting and support for transfer pricing documentation.

Location and Schedule

This role is on-site in Scottsdale, Arizona, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. It is not remote and it is not hybrid. Candidates from anywhere in the United States are welcome to apply, and you must relocate to the Scottsdale area before your start date. The role involves no travel.
