What are the responsibilities and job description for the ICU Nurse position at xPath LLC?
We are a large, mission-driven, faith-based hospital located in Tampa’s uptown district, serving the community with over 600 beds and a full range of advanced clinical services. Our team consists of dedicated professionals supporting programs in cardiovascular care, neurosciences, digestive health, orthopedics, oncology, women’s and children’s services, and minimally invasive/robotic surgery. We also lead important clinical and academic research in heart disease, neuroscience, and complex surgical care.
Role Summary
We are seeking an ICU RN who can provide exceptional bedside care to critically ill adult patients during night shifts. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond quickly to rapidly changing patient conditions, and close collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and focused assessments and document findings accurately
- Develop and update individualized care plans using the nursing process
- Administer IV drips, medications, blood products, and therapies safely and on time
- Manage ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients, including titrating vasoactive medications
- Continuously monitor patient status and notify the provider of changes
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and ongoing care
- Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and case managers
- Support and mentor newer staff when needed
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and documentation standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent adult ICU RN experience
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work full-time nights, including every other weekend and holiday rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or higher
- Experience in a large tertiary or teaching hospital
- Charge nurse, preceptor, or other leadership experience
- Additional critical care certifications such as CCRN
Additional Information
- Schedule: Full-time Nights (three 12-hour shifts per week)
- Unit: Adult ICU (medical/surgical and/or specialty ICU based on need)
