Position Summary:
We are seeking a Director to work within the Sales team and serve as the lead for US Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and clean fuels. The sales team serves as a catalyst to increase liquidity in the CBL Marketplace through driving volume in existing products, managing key customer accounts, generating new sales leads, and providing crucial customer feedback on product development. This is an opportunity to have a near- and long-term impact on the U.S. and global renewables markets.

- Take a leadership role in the launch of U.S. and international voluntary and compliance RECs and clean fuels certificates, which includes mapping out a go-to-market plan across internal teams, designing and executing an associated sales campaign, structuring any associated fee programs, and continuing to build liquidity and generate revenue post-launch
- Develop and run a targeted growth plan within their region and work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders to develop and market new products to current and new client ecosystems. The candidate will need strong analytical skills and the ability to engage at all levels within a client’s organizational chart.
- Leverage product expertise and network of contacts to source opportunities and generate initial customer interest to secure introductory meetings. Coordination and alignment with the company’s entire global sales teams on overall sales strategy and activities are essential.
- Offer in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products and services to the targeted customer segments. Generate new customer business by educating existing and prospective customers about the benefits and opportunities the Company’s products provide to risk managers and traders, with the ability to compare/contrast competitor products.
- Identify and act as the main contact for key partnership opportunities that expand Xpansiv’s addressable market, improve liquidity for existing contracts, and diversify its product suite.
- Work closely with internal technology teams to build more efficient and informative front end trading platforms and associated REC registries
- Keep a near-real-time pulse on market intelligence, analyze key carbon market developments, and communicate timely updates to inform the organization’s priorities.
- Plan and participate in speaking opportunities at conferences, events, and webinars that promote the maturation of the global carbon markets.
- Some domestic and global travel will be required to support sales and business development activities.
- Bachelor’s degree with four to eight years of experience working in environmental/commodity markets, and established relationships with key industry participants
- The position requires a keen understanding of REC markets and how the target customer segments use Xpansiv products and services in the cash/physical market and the associated derivative markets.
- Proven track record of developing and marketing environmental products
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Ability to learn in a dynamic work environment and work to achieve goals
- Effective communicator with an aptitude for building relationships
- A passion for environmental markets
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with desire to expand expertise across new applications, as needed
- Experience trading, analyzing, and/or marketing RECs
- Understanding of the California Low Carbon Fuel Standard market
- Executive presence, strong leadership qualities, self-motivation, and outstanding communication skills.
- Existing relationships with leaders and key influencers across the global carbon markets, including supply-side participants (e.g., project developers), demand-side participants (e.g., corporates, financial institutions, investors), and intermediaries (e.g., exchanges, brokers).

Base Salary
Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, knowledge, education and training. However, compensation in New York is expected to be as follows:
$155,000 -$175,000
