Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support second shift quality operations, including quality inspectors and technicians.
- Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to ensure adherence to quality standards, procedures, and standard work.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality requirements and applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, HVAC specifications).
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product conformance.
- Act as the primary quality escalation point during second shift operations.
- Identify, contain, and manage non-conforming material, ensuring proper disposition and documentation.
- Lead root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, scrap, and rework.
- Maintain accurate quality records, shift reports, and performance metrics, ensuring effective communication with day shift and management.
- Proven experience as a Quality Supervisor, Quality Lead, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working second shift or in off-shift manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), preferably ISO 9001.
- Experience in manufacturing environments such as HVAC, industrial equipment, or complex assemblies is preferred.
- Familiarity with quality tools including SPC, root cause analysis, and CAPA systems.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, and foster accountability across teams.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience with ERP/MES systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.) is preferred.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is considered an asset.
