As we grow into the Houston market, our primary need is support on a government contract focused on the service and maintenance of Hill-Rom patient beds and Stryker stretchers, with potential for expanded biomedical services in the near future.
Job Purpose:
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) will perform preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and repairs on patient beds and stretchers, ensuring equipment is compliant, functional, and safe for use. The ideal candidate is self-reliant, trustworthy, and capable of working independently in a government healthcare facility setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, inspection, testing, and calibration of biomedical equipment.
- Conduct routine and corrective maintenance following PM protocols and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and equipment histories.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend service solutions as needed.
- Stay current with industry standards and technical updates through continuing education and networking.
- Ensure a clean, safe work environment in compliance with regulations and internal policies.
Requirements:
Education & Credentials
- Required: Associate’s degree or Certificate in Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician
- Preferred: 2 years of hands-on experience with clinical equipment maintenance, especially with hospital beds and stretchers.
Skill Qualifications:
- Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with PM procedures and equipment calibration.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Knowledge of infection control, sterilization practices, and safety compliance.
- Experience with repair and maintenance of Hill-Rom and Stryker equipment is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Must be flexible, reliable, and comfortable working independently in the field.
