Job Overview

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily production operations, leading and motivating a team of manufacturing technicians and assemblers, and ensuring the consistent implementation and enforcement of safety protocols and quality standards. This role is crucial for driving continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process, ensuring production schedules are met, and ultimately achieving overall operational goals within a highly organized and productive manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of production personnel to meet daily production targets.
  • Schedule and assign work to staff, ensuring optimal resource utilization and adherence to production plans.
  • Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control procedures and specifications throughout the manufacturing cycle.
  • Train, mentor, and develop production team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address employee relations issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output, quality metrics, and material consumption.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain departments to resolve production challenges and implement process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste elimination.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing company safety policies and procedures, and conducting regular safety audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of electronic manufacturing processes and quality control.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines; provide leadership to include delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and cost reductions.
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing production processes.
  • Familiar/certified with industry standard IPC-A-610
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Must be a U.S. person per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15

Physical Requirements

  • This role requires the ability to perform standard office tasks, including prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, as well as the ability to stand or walk for short periods to access and navigate various departments within the company's facilities
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude for working on multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for working with electronic components and equipment.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • This is a fulltime on-site role primarily performed at one or more of our multiple locations.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who live near one of our sites.
  • Availability to work extended hours as needed to meet business objectives and deadlines

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
