Position Overview
As a Service Center Mechanic, you'll diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain specialized hydraulic and mechanical trailers while working alongside a team committed to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and suspension systems on specialized heavy haul trailers.
- Perform warranty repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and customer-requested modifications.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic steering systems, electrical circuits, ABS systems, and trailer components.
- Read and interpret service manuals, hydraulic schematics, and work instructions.
- Weld, fabricate, grind, and fit components as needed for repairs.
- Complete quality inspections to ensure trailers meet XL standards before customer delivery.
- Document repairs accurately using company work order systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Warranty, Engineering, and customers when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Mechanical experience in trailers, diesel equipment, agriculture, construction equipment, automotive, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Welding and fabrication experience is beneficial.
- Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and shop equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and service documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing/service environment.
- Valid driver's license preferred
