Title Maintenance Technician | Part-Time | Grand River Conference Center

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for effective preventative and planned maintenance of site assets as well as troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and carpentry at our venue.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00.

The Grand River Conference Center is a full-service meeting and event facility located in the heart of downtown Dubuque, Iowa. Newly renovated in 2020, featuring over 80,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space for events up to 2,000.

• Assume responsibility for all services and activities involving the maintenance and operations of the venue, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, chillers, refrigeration, boilers, and associated equipment.
• Perform maintenance on electrical systems, such as replacing light bulbs, receptacles, etc.
• Conduct general upkeep procedures, including landscaping, snow removal, salting sidewalks, painting, carpentry, and other tasks as assigned.
• Troubleshoot necessary repairs throughout the facility, concession stands, and kitchen equipment, including but not limited to sinks, ice machines, general repairs, etc.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent federal, state, and local regulations.
• Assist with other events and operational tasks as needed to help the overall success of the building.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and general computer understanding of basic IT functions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have availability to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
