Duties
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, teas, and light food items in accordance with company standards
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change using retail math and cash handling skills
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation areas
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed during food handling and serving
- Restock supplies, organize workstations, and keep the café environment tidy
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers efficiently
Experience
- Previous barista experience or coffee industry background is preferred, if you don’t have experience that is okay too.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and café operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in food preparation or food service environments is advantageous
- Ability to manage time effectively during peak hours to ensure prompt service
