We are looking for a Low Voltage Wiring Technician to join our team in Livonia, MI. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will be responsible for the onsite delivery, implementation, service, and support of low voltage wiring solutions for our customers. The position requires regular travel to client sites throughout the metro area.

What You Will Do Day-to-Day
You will handle a wide variety of low voltage wiring tasks that make a real difference for our clients:
- Cable Installation: Pull and route structured low voltage cable (Cat 5e, Cat 6, Fiber, Coax, Phone) in commercial environments.
- Termination: Terminate all cable types including Cat 5e/6, Coax, and Fiber connections.
- Distribution Frames: Dress and terminate 66 blocks, 110 blocks, and patch panels.
- Cabling Solutions: Design, implement, and maintain structured cabling systems for client environments.
- Testing and Labeling: Test and certify all wire runs and label according to documentation standards.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve connectivity and cabling issues.
- Device Installation: Install and mount IP devices that connect into the network, including wireless access points, cameras, and speakers.
- Infrastructure Support: Install support structures such as racks, J-hooks, and conduits.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed system documentation including as-built diagrams, system reviews, and recommendations.
- Customer Communication: Keep clients informed on project progress, notify them of any changes or scheduled work windows.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project leads and senior technicians on larger installations and escalated issues.
- Continuously look for ways to improve customer service and client satisfaction.
- Escalate service and project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels.
- Enter time and project details accurately in our ticketing system.
- Stay current on industry standards, new cabling technologies, and certifications.

Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for someone who has:
- 1–2 years of low voltage cabling experience (or equivalent technical training).
- Hands-on experience pulling, terminating, and testing structured cabling (Cat 5e/6, Fiber, Coax).
- Familiarity with distribution frame termination (66 blocks, 110 blocks, patch panels).
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for connectivity issues.
- Customer service skills, with clear and patient communication.
- Ability to manage multiple job sites without losing attention to detail.
- Ownership of basic telecom tools: punch down tools, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, hard hat, boots, and safety glasses.
- Dependable transportation for travel to client sites.
- Motivation to grow into advanced technical and leadership roles.
Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Great to Have):
- BICSI Installer certification or equivalent.
- Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing.
- Experience installing and configuring IP devices (wireless APs, cameras, speakers).
- Previous MSP (Managed Service Provider) or commercial cabling experience.
