What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at Xentris Wireless LLC?

Position Summary: Lead and coordinate various Addison cross functional teams to design quality assurance processes, procedures and standards to control product quality and manage the final inspection process prior to Xentris products being shipped to customers. The Quality Assurance Manager will make recommendations to VP Carrier Quality and Supply chain for accept/not accept decisions ship/not ship decisions and will need critical thinking skills to think through possibilities, corrective actions and avoidance of future issues and deviations from standards. As the coordinator of Inbound Quality Inspections in Addison working closely with the members of the Engineering, Industrial Design, Packaging, Product Management teams. The goals and objectives are to ensure there are no defective products to be received and subsequently delivered to Xentris customers.

  • Lead quality for all EXO Charge battery and charger products and variants from product kick off to mass production.
  • Define and develop product quality management process, check list to ensure product quality in each stage of development.
  • Manage suppliers’ product quality, onsite audit, and define procedures and quality standards.
  • Work closely with production factory to successfully launch and ramp all product variations.
  • Error/Mistake Proof
  • PFMEA/Control Plans, PPAP, PVT and etc.
  • Drive to define tools, equipment, design fixtures and testers to control product quality.
  • Perform, direct incoming/outgoing/end of Line inspections.
  • Lead corrective action discussion with all functional areas of the organization (i.e., Design, Factory, Engineering, Supplier Quality, etc.)
  • Work closely with engineering to production all containment activities are effective.
  • Lead and manage production pilot run.
  • Perform monthly analysis on quality issues by program.
  • Track and manage all customer rejections and ensure conformance to Xentris’s processes.
  • Work closely with production to ensure all critical product characteristics are understood with training aids/plans/work instructions
  • Work closely with validation/prototype/design team during development builds to track and understand all critical requirements
  • Lead the development of new processes as it relates to EXO Charge product quality
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work and communicate with customers as needed.

Activities/Deliverables

  • Formulates a solid, effective, and executable quality strategy that alignsand supports the company vision. Communicatesand executesthe strategy according to plan with precision.
  • Owns, understands,perform and ensures that quality targets are achieved or exceeded
  • Creates meaningful quality metrics todefine success within the function. Measures results, shares data with Executive Team and other functions; takes appropriate action to ensure forward progress and goals are achieved
  • Effectively and enthusiastically promotes the Xentris Wireless value proposition to potential customers, the market, industry leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for creating and utilizing the appropriate quality analytics and reporting tools tomonitor and meetquality goals.
  • Directs the preparation and management of budgets for assigned projects. Adheres to these budgetsand provides accurate expense forecasting and planning

Operations: Partner with operations to define processes for manufacturing and meet customer requirements.

Engineering: Partner with the engineering team’s efforts to identify, evaluate and implement effective quality measures that ensure a high-quality EXO Charge product.

Product Development: Partner with product development to better understand current product requirements and future innovations and pair them to quality processes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION, experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field or relevant equivalent experience
  • 4 years of related experience in the battery industry, or electronic product industry
  • 3 years of related experience in new product development and mass production quality control
  • Related working experience in supplier quality management.
  • Related working experience in new product development quality control, check list and process.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality disciplines (ISO), lean manufacturing techniques, process/procedure development and documentation, and 5S.
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Advanced communication skills including group presentations
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees
  • Proven ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
  • Practical experience in Program Management
  • Prove ability to lead complicated programs that require cross-functional support and input
  • Desire/ability to drive improvements
  • Able to think strategically and at the same time act tactically. The ability to be hands-on and lead by example is critical
