As a Senior Engineer you will perform following tasks:
- Support the development, testing, and demonstration of new DER and Microgrid algorithm capabilities, especially in our Microgrid control system OEPRATE.
- Integrate new optimization features into our Microgrid control system OPERATE
- Integrate OPERATE in client communication interfaces
- Program APIs for communication between client and Xendee OPERATE
- Engage with our clients and either lead their project modelling or support them on their modelling needs.
- Collect project data, use Xendee software technology, interpret results, and prepare client presentations.
The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills along with abilities to think innovatively and independently, to explore, simulate and optimize various aspects of distribution energy systems and Microgrid systems considering electrical infrastructure. Furthermore, excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are needed to interact with our clients.
Essential Qualifications
- MS (preferable PhD) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical education) with experience in engineering science relevant to distribution grids, distributed energy resources, Microgrids, and optimization techniques.
- Profound experience in energy modelling and Microgrids, optimization techniques, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Experience in distribution systems and power flow modelling.
- Experience in programming with Python and optimization platforms.
- Experience in communication protocols as TCP/IP Modbus.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively conduct and perform in a collaboratively teamwork environment, and professionally interact with a broad range of partners and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to independently carry out work.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in preparing both technical and executive level reports.
Please note: This position is intended for senior electrical engineers with direct experience in power systems and microgrids. While familiarity with AI and optimization is valuable, candidates must have a strong foundation in electrical engineering and power systems. Applicants with exclusively Computer Science or ML/AI backgrounds without electrical engineering experience are not a fit for this role.
