Role - Senior Web Engineer
Location - Hybrid role NYC, NY
6-12 Months
Interview process:
1st round: 1 hour video interview
2nd round: In-person interview in NY office
We’re looking for someone to focus on the Rails and front-end tiers. To complement our collaborative culture, we’ve also invested in tooling that foregrounds developer ergonomics. We ship code early and often, and have a whole team dedicated to making that easy.
We have a mature PaaS system which makes our CI workflow fully automated and helps deploy every PR to its own testing environment, so you get feedback quickly.
We’ll trust you to:
● Engage with subject matter experts to understand and refine the scope of user problems, working together to develop innovative technical solutions with a focus on meeting our users where they are
● Lead the modernization effort to improve security posture of our front-end tech stack
● Design and implement sustainable applications with a focus on customer facing APIs, single page frontends, hybrid cloud architectures and proactive system monitoring
● Bring your experience and expertise to our existing systems by working closely with your new peers to help influence the technology roadmap for our application stack
You'll need to have:
● 3 years experience in Ruby on Rails, building large-scale client-facing web applications
● 3 years experience in front end web development ○ We use Vue.js extensively, but if you’re fluent in React, Angular, etc., that works too ○ The front-end ecosystem is complex and evolving, so rather than expertise in a certain framework, we’re looking for someone who knows the fundamentals of browsers, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
● Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
We'd love to see:
● A passion for testing
● A deep understanding of modern web applications and issues related to scale, security, availability, performance, cross-browser compatibility, and continuous deployment.
Salary : $80 - $90
