The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the Finance Manager in daily and monthly accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable working independently.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and update the general ledger by accurately recording journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivable transactions, and ensuring all financial data is current and properly classified.Provide administrative support by maintaining organized records and digital filing systems, and assisting with general office tasks and data entry as needed.Process vendor invoices with accurate coding and timely payments while maintaining communication to resolve discrepancies and confirm payment schedules.Support payroll preparation by compiling and verifying employee timecards, tracking employee time off and managing reimbursementsPrepare and issue client invoices per contract terms, follow up on outstanding receivables, and maintain professional communication to resolve billing inquiries and ensure timely payments.Ensure subcontractor compliance by collecting and maintaining up-to-date W-9s, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), and lien waivers, and supporting 1099 reporting requirementsAllocate costs and income to specific jobs and cost codes, track expenses against budgets, assist with managing change orders, lien releases, and subcontractor payments, and prepare detailed job costing reports.Support monthly and year-end close processesCollaborate with department heads to track budgets and expendituresEnsure compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting regulations by maintaining accurate records, supporting audit readiness and implementing best practicesQualifications3 years of experience as a Bookkeeper requiredExperience working in construction or trade environment a plus but not required.Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft ExcelHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsAssociates in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred)Experience working in a mid-sized business environment is a plus
