We are seeking a proactive and skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical equipment, plumbing, and facilities equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct HVAC system repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal climate control within the facility.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs and installations efficiently.
- Maintain building interior through carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and general refurbishment tasks.
- Supervise or assist with welding projects, ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times.
- Read and interpret schematics for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to accurately diagnose issues.
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and manage inventory of parts and tools.
- Support safety protocols by inspecting facilities for hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance requests promptly and professionally from internal teams or tenants.
Requirements
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair operations (MRO), or facilities maintenance within manufacturing or residential settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics interpretation.
- Electrical experience including electrical equipment repair, electrical work installation, troubleshooting with testing devices such as ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including repair, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance procedures.
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as building interior maintenance tasks like carpentry and painting.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for troubleshooting automated systems.
- Ability to read technical schematics and use diagnostic tools effectively.
- Experience supervising or leading maintenance teams is preferred; leadership skills are highly valued.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with team members.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for managing work orders and inventory is advantageous.
- Valid certification or experience with electrical equipment repair, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, welding certifications preferred but not required.
