Position Summary
The Operations Support Technician provides administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the business. This role is highly cross-functional and supports office administration, production coordination, shipping and receiving, ERP system transactions, and basic accounting and data administration. The position serves as a key communication link between operations, production, logistics, and the front office.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administrative Support
- Support daily operations through administrative and clerical tasks
- Assist with scheduling, tracking, and documentation related to production and operations
- Maintain accurate records, files, and data systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining organized and accurate information
Shipping & Receiving
- Coordinate shipping and receiving of raw materials, containers, and finished goods
- Prepare and process shipping documentation (packing slips, bills of lading, etc.)
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists
- Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding deliveries
Production Support
- Create, release, and manage production work orders in the ERP system and Excel
- Assign and track production work orders as directed by operations leadership
- Ensure accurate production data entry, status updates, and closeout of work orders
ERP System & Data Administration
- Perform daily transactions in the ERP system including inventory movements, work orders, and production reporting
- Maintain data accuracy for inventory, materials, and production records
- Generate reports as needed for operations, accounting, and management
Accounting Support
- Assist with basic accounting functions such as data entry, invoice processing, and reconciliation support
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as assigned
- Ensure documentation is complete and properly filed for financial records
Reception & Front Office
- Serve as receptionist and first point of contact for visitors and phone inquiries
- Direct calls and visitors to appropriate personnel
- Maintain a professional and organized front office environment
- Other duties as assigned
Reports To: Plant Manager
Full-time - Hourly/Non-exempt
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in business, operations, or accounting preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in an administrative, operations, or support role (manufacturing or operations environment preferred)
- Experience working in an ERP system (training provided if needed)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or similar tools
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working across departments and with production teams
- Basic understanding of accounting principles is a plus
Working Conditions
- Office-based role with regular interaction with production and warehouse areas
- May require occasional lifting of light materials or documents
- Standard business hours with flexibility as operations require
