Job Summary: This position has authority and responsibility to managing all phases of Human Resources operation at their location. This position will also be responsible for directing work of Assistant HR Manager and coordinator positions in meeting the departmental expectations outlined below in responsibilities.

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of Human Resources operations at the assigned location, including direct supervision of Assistant HR Manager and Housing Manager, ensuring all departmental expectations are met.
- Guide and support managers in consistent employee documentation, discipline, and adherence to company, legal, and NPS standards through training, coaching, and ongoing development.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, handling personnel issues with sensitivity and confidentiality, resolving concerns promptly, and making appropriate referrals to support resources.
- Lead and/or support investigations into sensitive matters (e.g., harassment, discrimination, threats), ensuring thorough, timely, and compliant processes, and communicate findings to relevant parties as needed.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and legally compliant employee and investigative files, ensuring timely documentation and communication with the Gardiner HR office.
- Collaborate with department managers, operations, support staff, and the HR team to resolve sensitive employee issues, escalate concerns appropriately, and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Manage employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and terminations, ensuring processes are professional, consistent, and legally compliant.
- Monitor turnover trends, capture retention metrics, and recommend improvements to enhance employee assimilation and reduce HR operating expenses.
- Support and facilitate employee reward, recognition, and engagement programs.
- Attend and contribute to location and departmental meetings, sharing relevant information with the HR department to support effective communication.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal customers, including Operations, Housing, Security, Managers, Supervisors, HR Support, and NPS, representing the HR department professionally.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee information (e.g., profile changes, payroll deductions) and respond promptly to requests and concerns from employees, management, and NPS.
- Utilize personnel reports to assist departments with staffing assessments, file audits, and compliance, and support hiring efforts for seasonal HR staff as needed.
- Continuously seek process improvements to enhance service standards, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to persuasively and professionally guide and motivate others and to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work within a fast paced and quickly changing environment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience Xanterra Yellowstone Management and/or HR experience.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
- Demonstrated skill in the areas of leadership, decision making, delegation, time management, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal communication.
- Excellent follow-up skills with ability to shift priorities and restructure time and energies to perform in an optimal capacity. Make sound judgment both independently or collaboratively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to persuasively and professionally guide and motivate others and to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures, Park/Company guidelines and resources for cases with extenuating circumstances.
Physical Requirements include:
- Able to walk or stand for at least 30 minutes at a time.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work above 7,700 feet elevation.
- Can navigate housing facilities and climb stairs daily.
- Walks regularly between HR and other department offices.
- Able to sit for 30–120 minutes or more.
- Can walk continuously for up to one mile.
- Comfortable walking on uneven, icy, or snow-covered terrain.
