Most loan originator jobs are sales jobs wearing a lending badge. Ours isn't.

At X5 Home Loans, business development is on us. We generate the opportunity. What we need is someone who can take that opportunity and run it through our process with quality, care, and enough personality that the borrower actually remembers who walked them through the biggest financial decision of their life.

No cold-calling realtors at 7am to see who picks up. No "eat what you kill" and good luck. Just real business, a real process, and a real team behind you.

Why the broker thing matters

We're a broker, which means we're not stuck selling one product and hoping it fits. We've got access to a wide range of lending solutions, so when a file has a wrinkle (and files always have a wrinkle), you've got options instead of an apology.

More closings. Fewer "sorry, we can't do that" phone calls. It's a good way to work.

What you'll actually do

• Pick up warm opportunities from our referral partners and marketing. No prospecting, no list-building.
• Structure the loan: price the scenario, pick the program that actually fits, and set expectations the file can keep.
• Guide borrowers from first conversation through a rock-solid pre-approval and a clean application.
• Keep borrowers and agents updated before they have to ask. Communication is half the job.
• Hand a complete, well-built file to our fulfillment team, and stay the borrower's familiar voice through closing.

• Loan Originators ready for a seat where the leads are already warm
• Processors who know the file inside and out and want the front-of-house role
• Account Executives with the lending fluency and the relationship instincts
• Sales and customer service professionals from outside mortgage entirely who are sharp, coachable, and genuinely good with people

If you're willing to learn our process, put in real work, and treat every borrower like the experience matters, we can teach the rest.

• Can explain a rate lock to a nervous first-time buyer without making them feel small

• Want to work alone with your headphones on and never speak to anyone
• Think "process" is a four-letter word
• Need a 400-person org chart to hide inside

What it actually takes to be great at this

Beyond the resume, three things separate the people who thrive here from the people who just get by:

• Creative problem solving. Files rarely show up in a neat little box. We want someone who can think, stay nimble, and find the angle that gets a deal done, all while staying present and pleasant with the client and the referral source waiting on an answer. Rigid does not work in this business. Resourceful does.
• Communication that puts people at ease. You will be explaining complicated things to people who are stressed about money. The goal is to make them feel welcome and comfortable, never lectured. If you can take a messy scenario and make it sound manageable, borrowers and referral partners will keep coming back to you specifically.
• Detail orientation, seriously. We work in numbers, and numbers have to be exact. We work to deadlines, and deadlines have to be hit. Our process exists because it protects the client and it protects you, so we need someone who follows it every single time, not just when things are calm.

Get those three right and the rest of this job is a lot of fun.

• Base salary ($60-80k) yes, an actual salary, not a draw
