Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Package Handler to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling, loading, and unloading goods, ensuring the safe and timely movement of packages within the facility. Duties
- Load and unload packages from lorries and storage areas using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Organise and manage stock within the warehouse, ensuring accurate placement and retrieval of items
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols to prevent damage or injury
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, preparing goods for dispatch or receipt
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, including forklifts, and report any mechanical issues
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Support team members in materials handling tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or construction is advantageous
- Valid forklift licence is preferred; training can be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is desirable
- Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting and prolonged standing periods
- Mechanical aptitude or basic knowledge of equipment maintenance is beneficial
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure accurate stock management
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, with a focus on safety and efficiency
