X-Ray Associates of New Mexico, P.C. (XRANM) is dedicated to providing high-quality imaging and diagnostic services to our community. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team and support physicians in delivering exceptional patient care.
Position Summary:
As a Medical Assistant at XRANM, you will provide direct care to patients alongside physicians and assist with patient services over the phone. You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during patient exams and in-office procedures using established protocols.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, and document all information accurately in patient charts.
- Process genetic testing, medical orders, and referrals; obtain necessary insurance authorizations.
- Answer phone calls, provide patient instructions as directed, and triage messages to physicians or physician assistants.
- Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, instruments, and equipment; ensure sterilization and inventory management.
- Follow HIPAA privacy and security standards, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- CMA Program graduate preferred; must pass CMA Certification Exam within one year if not already certified.
- CPR certification and completion of a basic arrhythmia course required.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a physician’s office preferred.
- Proficiency with Windows OS and medical office software (MedInfomatics experience a plus).
- Strong multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
- Candidates must be female as a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification
