Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department of Wythe County Community Hospital. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of prior ER experience and the ability to work night shifts and respond to on-call assignments quickly.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in an emergent care environment.
- Recognizing, triaging, assessing, and effectively treating life-threatening conditions.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:

Required Skills and Certifications:
This role requires the following skills and certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of date of hire.
- Conscious Sedation competency completion required within 90 days of date of hire.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA, or Compact licensure as a Registered Nurse which includes the Commonwealth of VA, and in good standing with the Board.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in an ER as an RN is strongly preferred.
