Duties
- Walk dogs of various sizes and temperaments, ensuring they receive proper exercise and mental stimulation.
- Provide pet sitting services, including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills.
- Monitor dogs’ behavior during walks and sitting sessions to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Communicate regularly with pet owners regarding their pets’ activities, health status, and any concerns.
- Assist with basic dog training commands to promote good behavior during walks and visits.
- Maintain detailed records of each dog’s care routine, health notes, and special instructions.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet sitting, dog handling, or animal care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience (such as veterinary technician or assistant background) is a plus.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs safely during walks or sitting sessions.
- Experience with veterinary procedures or veterinary assistant roles enhances your ability to recognize health issues early.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., assisting larger dogs or handling supplies).
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Passion for animal welfare with a responsible attitude towards pet safety and care.
