WyoTech is seeking a candidate to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Student Life Department. This position under general supervision, will assist in answering phones, sorting mail and engaging with students that have inquiries pertaining to the department. This position is only temporary and will only be available from December 1st – February 6th, 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer calls to Student Life phone numbers and assist as necessary.
- Forward all student charges to the business office including damage, cleaning and parking violations.
- Prepare letters to students using mail merge function including eviction, late payment, warning, and probation letters.
- Maintain student files accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a professional relationship with students and coworkers with no fraternization with students.
- Sort mail and packages as they come in.
- Assist in down week cleaning and preparation for registration.
- Assist in campus registration and housing check-in.
- Assist in preparing check-in and key packets prior to registration.
- Report maintenance issues to the Facilities department in a timely manner to ensure prompt services.
Associated Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Be solution oriented, resourceful and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
- Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Advanced ability to work independently.
- Must be able to organize and demonstrate initiative.
- Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer services skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with a consultative style.
- Ability to promote/maintain a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime or extended hours to include evening and weekends.
- Willingness to respond to all call situations.
Minimum Requirement (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying):
- High school diploma or equivalent from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Experience as an Office Manager.
- Current driver’s license.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
