_JOB DESCRIPTION: WYOMING STATE HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION PROGRAM (WSHIIP) PROGRAM COORDINATOR (RIVERTON, WY)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction and supervision of the Wyoming State Health Insurance Information Program Manager, the Wyoming State Health Insurance Information Program Coordinator is responsible for the promotion, development, and maintenance of the Wyoming State Health Insurance Program within their respective region of the state.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assists with planning, organizing and implementing the recruitment, orientation, training, placement, and maintenance of WSHIIP volunteers.
- Maintain familiar working relationships with area agencies (including but not limited to CMS, SSA, etc.); as well as the State Health Insurance Program Director.
- Assists with coordinating travel and volunteer training events along with fellow staff members.
- Develops and maintains confidential client and volunteer records/files.
- Develops and maintains a cooperative working partnership with a variety of community organizations and agencies.
- Represents WSCI and the WSHIIP at partnership functions.
- Assists with planning, developing, and implementing a continuous public relations program for the WSHIIP in cooperation with other WSCI programs.
- Reviews and maintains a working knowledge of Medicare (Parts A, B, C & D), Social Security (SSI, SSDI), Medicare Supplements (Medigap Plans), Long Term Care options, and other programmatic information.
- Assists the Program Manager in preparing and issuing reports in accordance with contractual obligations and administrative needs.
- Assists with preparing media releases and Public Service Announcements.
- Required to maintain fiscal awareness over individual spending in coordination with the WSHIIP Program Managers budget.
- Provide presentations at senior centers, health fairs, and other public venues to promote the WSHIIP program.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:*
Experience working with insurance (preferably Medicare) and/or social service agencies and/or businesses with the public and/or older individuals is desired. Experience in working with older persons, and volunteers, is a plus; some familiarity with community development and/or health insurance and social service delivery programs is also preferred. Proven ability to work independently without close supervision is required. Must demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills, sound interpersonal skills, and must be comfortable with public speaking so to provide presentations in a clear and concise manner. A valid drivers license and use of reliable transportation with the ability to travel are required. Employee must be of the highest character and integrity.
