What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Supervisor position at Wyoming Rents?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and store incoming parts; conduct regular stock checks; reorder low or out-of-stock items; organize inventory for efficiency.
- Order Processing: Create invoices and arrange delivery or pick-up for customer orders.
- Customer Assistance: Advise customers and service technicians on parts compatibility, installation procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Quality Control: Inspect parts for damage or defects, return or reorder incorrect items, and maintain accurate records of pending credits.
- Coordination with Suppliers: Place orders with vendors, track deliveries, manage special orders, warranty claims, and stay updated on product recalls or specification changes.
- Department Maintenance: Keep the workspace clean and organized, maintain shelving and computer systems, and comply with safety standards.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate inventory records, update parts catalogs, and perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Oversees operation of warehouse and parts counter.
- Establishes and ensures achievement of goals related to safety and profitability.
- Oversees order-filling, stocking, receiving, crediting, parts exchange processes, and parts delivery scheduling.
- Maintains quality and cost control of operations.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with management, technical teams, peers, Caterpillar representatives, and customers.
- Actively participate in training for professional development.
- Provide information to customers and management, as needed and requested, including invoice clarification, shipping information, ship dates, program performance, delivery schedules, quotes, manufacturer related information and anything initiated by customer requests.
- On call service nights, week-ends and holidays

• Maintain confidentiality for proprietary information, filing and telemarketing

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Caterpillar dealer operations, inventory control, warehouse logistics and counter sales, preferably in mining.
• Experience in problem solving skills, telecommunications and customer relations
PREFERRED
• Component repair procedures and reusability standards knowledge.
• Minimum of an Bachelor Degree or job-related experience.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Occasional exposure to loud noise levels and outdoor weather conditions.
• Occasional use of ladders and steps for accessing equipment.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing.
• Frequent sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting and climbing.
• Repetitive motion with feet and hands.
• Use of all necessary personal protective equipment.
