Duties
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients across various specialties, including echocardiograms, abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the exam.
- Operate ultrasound equipment with precision, adjusting settings to optimize image quality based on individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to review images, clarify findings, and assist in diagnosis.
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure all images are accurately labeled and stored securely in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of ultrasound machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and infection control standards to protect patients and staff during all procedures.
Experience
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential from a recognized certifying body.
- Proven experience performing a variety of ultrasound examinations in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care.
- Ability to operate advanced ultrasound equipment confidently and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
