Housekeeping Manager

The Wyndham on John Deere Commons and Element Moline is seeking a professional and personable Housekeeping Manager to oversee BOTH Housekeeping departments. You will be responsible for ensuring that both properties meet the brands' standards and that optimum service is provided to our hotel guests. Be able to show you care and connect with guests. Take action by showing initiative and going the extra mile to get the job done.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

Your Staff

• Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for employees. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance.
• Educate and train all employees in compliance with governmental and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department heads.
• Advise employees of deficiencies and instruct on corrective action. Provide adequate retraining as needed.
• Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.

Guest Experience

• Ensure that all guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action are taken care of achieve complete guest satisfaction.
• Inspect all assigned suites and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms, equipment, linens and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction.
• Strives to improve service performance.

Experience and Qualifications:

• At least 2 years in a Housekeeping Supervisory role.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push items of a moderate weight, including a fully stocked housekeeping cart.
• Knowledge of cleaning systems, techniques and technology, including janitorial and housekeeping best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and multi-task skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and situations; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
