Job Description
Position Summary:
This position will manage multi-state payroll functions for the Wyman Gordon Division. Audit and review complete payroll application, 401K administration, and benefit audits.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Audit process of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations are accurate and timely.
Direct supervisor for the Division payroll staff.
Critically review and analyze payroll benefit tax procedures in order to recommend and/or implement changes leading to best practices.
Supervise and coordinate fiscal and calendar year-end processing of payroll, W-2 and other tax forms, and other government required documentation.
Audit payroll year to date, fringe, etc. on all company codes for the Wyman Gordon Division.
Complete month-end reconciliations for payroll liability accounts.
Communicate actively with locations regarding deadlines, changes, etc. on payroll applications.
Train team members and create training documentation on systems, procedures, and policies as necessary.
Perform Sarbanes Oxley audits as required for the payroll department.
Work with internal and external auditors.
Control the ADP master file and any changes to custom calculations, feeds, etc. with all company codes.
Prepare management reports as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance and/or equivalent experience and training.
Seven (7) years payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment with a minimum of 2,000 employees on payroll
Basic knowledge and ability to apply Division time, attendance and pay policies, as well as state and federal wage and hour laws, is preferred.
Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels.
Previous experience with automated payroll systems, including data entry is strongly preferred, knowledge of ADP payroll system desirable.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Ability to effectively supervisor team members and work as a member of that team and organize work activities for other members of that team.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and implement process improvements.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.
Strong time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
Familiarity with SOX compliance is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Up to 25% travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit and work in an office environment for extended periods of time.
Salary : $63,000 - $87,000
