Job Description
Position Summary:
Level Two: Building upon level one, level two maintenance technicians perform basic preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and emergency maintenance on all equipment. Basic understanding of fabrication and welding; good communication skills a must in reading, writing and verbalizing, calipers and basic shop math. Typically, 3-6 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Correctly interpret work orders
- Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
- Perform basic facility maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical processes.
- Ability to determine repairs needed for future corrective maintenance work.
- Perform basic non-load bearing welds using mig or stick welding
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required.
- Perform other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.
Required Skills:
- The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals
- The ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
- The ability to use basic inspection tools such micrometers, calipers, comparators
- The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents basic computer skills
- The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions
Experience & Education
- 3 to 6 year of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required
- GED or High School diploma required
Working Conditions:
- Constant exposure to indoor / outdoor manufacturing environment
- Constant exposure to moderate noise
- Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
- Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
- Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane, boom lift and manlift.
- Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
- Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
