Wychmere Beach Club, Cape Cod's premier wedding destination, is seeking to hire a talented and experienced Event Specialist to join our year-round team. The Event Specialist is a management level position and will be part of our dynamic in-house planning team that is responsible for the planning and execution of weddings and other social events held at Wychmere Beach Club. The Event Specialist works closely with our clients and guests to ensure they experience a special and flawless event.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about event planning, creative, and possess an appreciation for perfection with a high attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate with our clients and team members. The Event Specialist is the main connection between Wychmere Beach Club and our clients and must be able to represent our brand and business effectively.
Schedule:
- Weekend availability required
- Flexibility to work day and evening shifts
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in high-end, luxury special occasion event detailing and planning is required
- Outstanding interpersonal, professional, and presentation skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Effective leadership and collaboration skills as a manager
- Exceptional written & verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in computer skills and event management software: Microsoft Office, BEO, Invoice and Floor Diagramming Software systems
- Require ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to both stand for long periods of time and sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to type and communicate via phone and email at a professional level
The Event Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Detail and execute high-end weddings, corporate, and social events
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage and décor trends
- Understand the operational flow of the event venue and service standards
- Coordinate and attend all client meetings, phone calls, ceremony rehearsals and tastings
- Create accurate BEO’s per Wychmere standards and attend weekly BEO meetings
- Create accurate floor plans using Social Tables software
- Fulfill day of event duties
- Maintain accurate client files
- Monitor event payments and ensure payment schedules are being met by the client
- Work cohesively with the culinary and operation teams to ensure event execution according to schedules and BEO's
Compensation: Base salary range is $60k to $70k and depends on experience. Position may also be eligible for additional incentives.
