This position is responsible for processing payroll data, maintaining employee payroll records, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance, resolving payroll discrepancies, and supporting accounting functions that contribute to efficient business operations. DAY IN THE LIFE
A typical day begins by reviewing payroll information received from project teams and employees, ensuring timekeeping records, employee changes, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and tax information are entered accurately into payroll systems. Throughout the week, you gather and analyze payroll data, calculate payroll-related information, prepare reports, and resolve discrepancies by working closely with employees, supervisors, and internal departments. You will regularly answer payroll questions, maintain confidential employee information, and help ensure compliance with company policies and payroll requirements. When payroll processing demands are complete, you will support accounting activities including invoice entry, statement review, issue resolution, and special projects that help keep financial operations running efficiently. Your work directly supports employee satisfaction, payroll accuracy, financial integrity, and the successful execution of WYATT's construction and industrial operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid state-issued driver's license required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate payroll and employee records.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive payroll information.
