Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assembly, inspection, and packaging of sterile medical instruments, ensuring all items meet strict sterilization standards.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and endoscope reprocessors with precision and adherence to protocols.
• Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, monitor stock rotation, and coordinate procurement to ensure availability of necessary instruments.
• Conduct thorough decontamination processes for used surgical tools, ensuring all items are properly cleaned before sterilization.
• Follow established aseptic techniques during instrument handling to prevent contamination and maintain sterile fields.
• Reprocess complex medical equipment including endoscopes, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and infection control policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance records in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, packaging, or related healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately handle specialized surgical instruments and understand their applications.
• Familiarity with infection prevention management practices within healthcare settings.
• Proficiency in operating medical sterilization equipment and understanding of medical terminology relevant to sterile processing.
• Strong skills in inventory management, record keeping, and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Ability to demonstrate aseptic technique consistently during instrument handling and reprocessing activities.
• Certification or training in sterile processing or central sterile supply is highly preferred; ongoing education in infection prevention is a plus.
