Duties
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and sheet metal work using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and automotive welding equipment.
- Utilize fabrication skills to create custom parts or modify existing components with fabrication repair techniques.
- Conduct auto painting, sanding, and detailing to achieve a flawless finish that meets factory standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for tasks such as sanding, cutting, grinding, and assembly of vehicle parts.
- Repair or replace auto glass and perform auto restoration projects with precision and attention to detail.
- Apply auto estimating skills to assess damage, prepare repair plans, and communicate with customers about repair processes.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks including mechanical repairs, auto body alignment, and working with automotive welding equipment to ensure safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician in a dealership or independent shop setting.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, and welding repair techniques necessary for structural repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and auto restoration processes.
- Skilled in using sheet metal tools, sanding tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and other auto body repair tools.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service principles to provide transparent communication with clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate automotive repair equipment efficiently.
- Knowledge of auto painting techniques including auto painting with airless spray guns and detailing for a professional finish.
