What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Help Desk Technician position at Wyant Technologies?
This position handles the following:
Helping our clients over the phone while using our RMM tool to access their equipment.
Setup of new PC hardware.
Creation and upkeep of processes.
Backup verification and remediation.
Proactive maintenance that can be done remotely.
These are the things we'd like to see but we will train the right person:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows 10 and 11, Windows Server 2012 through 2019
Administrative knowledge of Office 365 (user creation, groups, public folders)
Experience with HP and Lenovo hardware a plus
2 years of experience preferred
MSP, HaloPSA, and NinjaOne experience a huge plus
Must be able to work as part of a team and have strong documentation skills
At least one year of experience in the following is preferred but we will train if you don't have it:
Lenovo, HP, and Carbon Systems servers
Lenovo and HP desktops, and laptops (we are primarily Lenovo but still deal with some HP gear that has been in the field for a while)
Ubiquiti switching, firewalls, and wireless
NinjaOne Backup
Yeastar and 3CX
Knowledge/understanding of HIPAA is a huge plus
Network or other major certification would be awesome, but is not required.
We cover half of your health insurance costs and offer paid vacation time to our employees. We offer vision and dental, but you pay for them. If you want health coverage for your family, that is also paid for by you.
Must be able to follow our processes. There is no honor in putting 4 hours into a job that should've been escalated, where it could've been fixed in 15 minutes by someone who has seen the issue before. Teamwork makes the dream work.
On the other hand, if you find a better way to do something, document it, and we'll use your process going forward. We didn't get here by not improving how we do things.
Our office hours are 8 am to 5 pm Mon-Fri. Every week, someone is on call. When it's your turn, you may need to look at a couple of issues between 6 am and 8 am, or between 5 pm and 10 pm. After-hours calls don't happen very often, which is good for everyone. I'm not a fan of working after hours or on weekends, so we do very little work then. There has to be a pretty good reason for it.
If you make it past the second interview, you will be sent a personality test. This test doesn't influence our hiring, but it does help us understand how you tick. We'll share ours with you if you're hired.
This position is for help desk in our office. You will not be leaving the office. If you decide to would like to move to a field tech position, we can make that happen. Communication is key. If you don't communicate with us, we can't help you when you're having issues, or want a change, or have ideas.
Bottom line: We work on many different networks for clients of various sizes. If you aren't comfortable working on different networks all day long, this job isn't for you.
