The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant position is part of the JobCare/Urgent Care Department and is a full-time role working approximately 80 hours per two-week pay period with flexible hours. The schedule may include weekend and holiday rotation and requires adaptability to physician schedules for vacations, time off, and call-offs.
This role provides advanced patient care under the general supervision of a physician, focusing on evaluating, treating, and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions while ensuring a seamless and efficient care experience.
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current license from the State Board of Nursing or Ohio State Medical Board to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Experience in patient counseling and education preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Professional demeanor, initiative, and flexibility to meet patient care needs
- Plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in the JobCare/Urgent Care setting
- Examine and treat chronic and acute illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other conditions
- Order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures as applicable
- Write prescriptions and perform office procedures within scope of practice and protocols
- Refer patients to physicians when necessary
- Provide guidance and directions to nursing and ancillary staff to ensure quality care
- Maintain adherence to established nursing and medical standards, procedures, and practices
- Promote professionalism, patient safety, and high-quality patient care
