Duties include but are not limited to:

Teachers are responsible for developing lesson plans aligned to the curriculum. Guide the learning process

toward identified achievement goals and establish clear objectives for all learning. Maintain a classroom

environment that is safe, orderly, and conducive to effective learning and visually appealing for all children. Differentiate instruction so that all students complete rigorous work. Responsible for understanding and

implementing culturally and linguistically sustaining practices. Administer assessments to measure student

progress. Provide intensive instruction using multiple resources aligned to standards. Work with the school site lead teacher and colleagues to maintain timely attendance and review academic records to ensure all outcome goals are on track to be met, including academic and social and emotional skill development outcomes.

Instructional Assistants are responsible for supporting teachers with providing behavioral and academic

support. Responsible for assisting scholars with mastering required skills.

Qualifications: Teachers/Substitute Teachers: NYS Teacher Certification required

Instructional Assistants/Substitutes: NYS Teaching Assistant Certification required

Teacher Aides/Substitutes: High School Diploma

Location: Wyandanch Memorial High School

Immediate Supervisor: Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Elem. School Principal and Summer School Lead Teacher

Effective Date: July 6, 2026

Duration: Orientation/Planning Sessions on June 29, 2026 to July 30, 2026

Summer Program Duration: July 6, 2026 to July 31, 2026

Hours: 8:45am to 12:15pm, Monday through Friday

Stipend: Teachers/Substitute Teachers: Per WTA Contract

Non-District Instructional Staff: $55.00 per hour

Instructional Assistants/Substitutes: $35.00 per hour

Teacher Aides/Substitutes: $25.00 per hour
