THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC, Position Description Number PDD1636000and is part of the WY 153d Maintenance Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard.
This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.
Qualifications:
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2, and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible).
Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 MXS.
Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 6: Current and prior military service members separated from any branch of the military to include US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, Reserves, and National Guard components. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
WG-08: Must possess experience or training removing and installing components and accessories with detailed guidance. Experience in following detailed instructions in making minor repairs and modifications to aircraft engines, sub-assemblies and components.
WG-10: Must possess experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from MM/YYYY - MM/YYYY (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS:
Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 2A6X1, Aerospace Propulsion.
Enlisted 2A6X1 ASVAB Requirements:
Must possess a minimum score of "56" on the Mechanical portion of the ASVAB.
Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333132.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted
DRIVER'S LICENSE:
Must possess a valid state's driver's license.
Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, remove, repair, install, certify, test and perform operational checks on the turboprop engines, propellers, and associated propulsion system components.(1) Removes, installs, certifies, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and installs turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and related propeller components as required.
(2) Modifies engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) directives; removes and installs engine quick change kits; prepares engines for installation and installs engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft.
(3) Performs operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs in accordance with approved checklists.
(4) Performs isochronal and special evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units.
(5) Performs aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks.
