This position performs all secretarial duties for the Respiratory Care/EEG Departments.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Two (2) years administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Coordinates internal and external correspondence, documentation, and recordkeeping.
- Performs receptionist functions for Respirator PFT & EEG for outpatients, visitors, vendors, physicians, etc.
- Copies, distributes, and files memorandum, reports, and other information related to Respiratory Care and EEG and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Schedules and coordinates all inpatient and outpatient procedures with various departments and physicians. Confirms that information on physician script corresponds with diagnosis codes.
- Prepares and completes timecards for review and approval by Director.
- Accurately maintains computer/written records for all department charges/credits.
- Orders all office supplies for the department.
- Obtain insurance authorizations for Pulmonary Rehabilitation patients
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Frequent typing, sitting, standing, walking, bending, pinching, and grasping.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds.
- Working closely with others
- Hybrid office setting with clinical setting. Office setting includes electrical equipment (i.e. telephone, personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc.). Clinical setting includes Infrequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, latex, and medications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to attend to more than one aspect of a situation simultaneously.
- Efficiency in processing of verbal information, either in written or spoken form is a major requirement and prerequisite of the job.
- Some independent thought, planning or origination of options and solutions is necessary.
- Ability to apply principles of reasoning and problem solving to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
