Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Successful completion of Mechanical Aptitude test required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- West Virginia Plumber Certification.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of all hospital plumbing systems. Maintains troubleshoots, and test plumbing systems; assembles, installs, and repair pumps, pipes fittings, and fixtures; pump alignment cut, thread and weld pipes; assembles and installs vales, pipe fittings and pipes.
- Supervises general maintenance workers by allocating and coordinating work flow, training, and advising, in more complex plumbing repair work throughout the hospital.
- Provides skilled preventive and corrective repair work throughout the hospital.
- Has access to, and is responsible for, performing assigned duties in locked medication rooms. This position is aware that they are not responsible for medications and they should report any unsecured medications to a licensed professional.
- Performs other maintenance duties as directed.
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb and work off of ladders, scaffolding or electric lifts and operate basic manual cleaning equipment.
- Frequent exposure to risk of electrical shock.
- Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment.
- Ability to work based on operational needs of the hospital.
- Possess ability to relay information, and deal tactfully and harmoniously with others.
