Purpose/Belief Statement Pharmacy Dispensing Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, help the pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients and consumers. We also offer 401(k) with employer match and Flexible Spending Accounts. Qualifications Must be a West Virginia licensed Pharmacy Technician with National Technician Certification. Previous Long Term Care pharmacy experience a plus. Knowledge of FrameworkLTC a plus. Responsibilities May participate in one or more of the following activities: Prepare prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist by retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, and at times mixing medication. Make requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacists. Receive and maintain inventory of drugs and chemicals and ensure their security. Verify that information on the prescription is complete and accurate. Print prescription labels and package prescriptions according to Long Term Care policy standards. Prepack medications using unit dose sealers. Monitor/document prepack product expiration dates and lot numbers appropriately. Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting. Assist in automated compliance packaging dispensing process Assist in Narcotic Room activities to prepare Controlled Substance prescriptions according to Long Term Care Standards and Pharmacy Policy and Procedures. Assist in preparing non-sterile compounded products. Assist in preparing sterile compounded products after appropriate training. Enter medication orders into pharmacy operating system. Knowledge of FrameworkLTC a plus.
