What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director (Staff and Education Director) position at WV Early Learning Academy -State Capitol Complex?
Must Have a Minimum of:
- A Registered ACDS Certificate
- 28 college credits, Minimum of 9 credits in Early Childhood Development
- 15 years of relevant work experience
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in early childhood education
- A degree in Business Management or Administration with 12 credit hours in Early Childhood and 300 hours work experience
- A Bachelors or Associates in a related field with 90 contact hours in the field or a total of 2 years relevant work experience.
This position demands a strong commitment, excellent time-management skills, exceptional leadership abilities, and dedication to our center which includes children, staff and families. While training is provided for the basic programs we utilize daily, a solid foundation in leadership, professionalism and the ability to oversee the business as a whole, is required from the start. Additionally, candidates should possess a thorough understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and are well-versed in hiring processes and state childcare regulations.
The role entails flexible work hours between 7 AM-6 PM, Monday to Friday, with a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week during business hours. We seek a leader who embodies kindness, professionalism and a deep commitment to delivering high-quality childcare. This individual must demonstrate the ability to lead all aspects of the program while upholding high standards and effectively enforcing policies and procedures.
It is essential to find the right individual who can foster individual staff growth and guide WVELA towards achieving NAEYC-accreditation.
